Chongqing is a hub in many ways - it's in central China, it sits on two major rivers, it was an administrative center, several minority Chinese cultures reside there and it borders five provinces. Chongqing, like Washington D.C., is an autonomous municipal zone.

If you like it hot and steamy, Chongqing is for you. This city, also called the Furnace City, gets hot and humid. Therefore, you should avoid visiting in the summer and opt for a more comfortable season. Chongqing gets a lot of rain as well. Chongqing is surronded by mountains and many buildings are built on hills.

Chongqing has many fine restaurants featuring Sichuan cuisine. Additionally, being the cultural crossroads that it is, you will be able to enjoy them all. You will also be able to enjoy natural wonders as well, such as the Three Gorges and the Yangtze River tours. Chongqing itself is a very large, sprawling city, with many areas to explore. Chongqing is definitely worth a visit.
